Comparison between Two Major Medical Systems: Western and Tibetan

Tibetan medicine and western medicine are based on very different elements. There is great variance in perspective, practice, and problem solving strategies between the two. Differences can be linked to aspects such as social conditions, cultural background, and geographical factors in the genesis and development of the two medicinal systems, both of which having their own natural characteristics. This paper presents a starting point for further comparative research on these developing systems.
