1. Tibetan Medical Department of Cardio-vascular and Cerebro-vascular diseases

This Department of our Hospital is one of the Key Projects under the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the 10^th Five Year Plan period.

Since the application of natural Tibetan patented medicines, including 70-Flavor Pearl Bolus (pearl bolus with 70 ingredients), 20-Flavor Aquilariea Bolus (aquilariea bolus with 20 ingredients),8-Flavor Aquilariea Bolus (aquilariea bolus with 8 ingredients), Xin-kang (Healthy Heart) Pill, Nao-kang (Healthy Brain) Pill, 25-Flavor Pearl Bolus (pearl bolus with 25 ingredients) and 25-Flavor Coral Bolus (coral bolus with 25 ingredients) etc., delightful achievements are attained in the treatment of insufficient blood supply to the brain, cerebral infarction, hemorrhagic apoplexy, sequelae of operation on brain wounds, especially on vascular headache, sequelae of senile cerebr-vascular disease, apoplexy and hemiplegia. At the same time, there are reliable effects on the prevention of hypertension,coronary heart disease, encephalatrophy, atelencephalia, and neck pain, lumbago, leg pain resulted from injury of motor system.

2.Tibetan Medical Department of Liver and Gallbladder Diseases

Based on the "Theory of Three Factors" in Tibetan medicine, and combined with the modern technology of biomedicine, some Tibetan patented medicines made from natural crude herbs grown in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, including 25-Flavor Turquoise Bolus (turquoise bolus of 25 ingredients), 7-Flavor Saffron Bolus (saffron bolus of 7 ingredients), Mi-jue-qing-gan Pill (Secret Liver-Clearing Pill) etc. are formulated and developed. Guided by the principles of treatment, both the symptoms and root causes of the diseases could be cured according to the syndrome differentiation and through methods of comprehensive nursing, heart heat clearing, anti-inflammation and promotion of bile flow, clearing of blood and liver, and the coordination between the liver, spleen and stomach, coordination between the liver and blood, coordination between digestive juice and four kinds of stomach-fire. More than 10, 000 cases of sufferings from hepatitis B, liver cirrhosis, liver cancer, acute and chronic cholecystitis were treated with satisfactory effects.

 3. Tibetan Medical Department of Rheumatic-Rheumatoid Diseases

In Tibetan medicine, rheumatic-rheumatoid diseases fall under the category of "grum bu" disease. It can be treated through administration of Tibetan medicines with properties of anti-inflammation, relieving pain, regulating qi and blood, dispelling cold and removing dampness, such as Feng-shi-zhi-tong Pill (Relieving Rheumatc Pain Pill), 15-Flavor Frankincense Pill (frankincense pill of 15 ingredients), 23-Flavor Catechu Pill (catechu pill of 23 ingredients), and Pearl Pill etc.; together with the application of medicinal bathing and moxibustion etc., both the root causes and the symptoms of disorders can be eliminated.  At the same time, the Department also has abundant experience in the treatment of osteoa-thropathy such as ankylosing spondylitis and gout,etc.

 4. Tibetan Medical Department of Kidney Disease

Based on the "theory of three factors", archaic prescriptions consist of over one hundred kinds of famous Tibetan crude herbs, including cordyceps, safflower, purple jasmine, wolfberry fruit, areca seed, golden chebula, etc. are written down. These medicines are used to treat various chronic kidney diseases, calculus of the kidney, multiple cysts of kidney, nephritic syndrome, prostatitis and male sexual dysfunction etc.

 5. Tibetan Medical Department of Gastro-Intestinal Diseases 

 In Tibetan medicine, gastro-intestinal diseases belong to badgan syndrome. There are combined badgan syndrome, badgan plus mkhris-pa syndrome, badgan meini syndrome differentiated into mid, medium and serious conditions. Ren-qing-chang-jue, Mang-jue and Zuo-zhu-da-xi are used to regulate lung and ascending fire, three kinds of fire in the spleen and stomach, and badgan juice (pH) in the stomach, and to remove cold-dampness. Verified clinically, the disease can be cured through improving microcirculation of gastric capillary, nourishing gastric mucosa, regulating function of gastric vegetative nerve, and strengthening the function of regeneration of gastric cells.

 6. Tibetan Department of Physical Therapy

By administration of external treatments such as moxibustion, massage, acupuncture, cupping, hot compress and local medicinal bathing, osteoarthropathy, cerivical spondylopathy, hypersteogeny, sciatica, gout and white vessel diseases can be treated; Services of traditional physical therapy and rehabilitation with ethnic characteristics are also provided.

 7. Tibetan Medical Department of Gynecology

By integrating Tibetan, Chinese and western medicine to treat gynecological disorders, services of the Department are known for the satisfactory, rapid and stable effects it produces. The characteristics of Tibetan medicines are demonstrated in the treatment of both frequently encountered and common diseases of gynecology. Unique effects are achieved in the treatment of annexitis, pelvic inflammation, hysteromyoma, multiple uterine cyst, urethritis, and menopausal syndrome,etc.

 8. Deparment of Tibetan Sitology -

 According to the different causes and conditions of diseases, Tibetan sitology is applied on patients. It can get twice the result with half the effort in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases and the recovery after operation.
